Macquarie Credit Union Limited is an Australian credit union headquartered in Dubbo, a city in the Orana Region of New South Wales. Macquarie’s products and services include savings accounts, term deposit accounts, home and investment loans, car loans, personal loans, overdrafts, VISA debit cards, VISA credit cards, investments, Internet and telephone banking, financial planning as well as multi-currency cash passport cards, traveller’s cheques and foreign exchange services. Its insurance products include car insurance, home building and contents insurance, landlords insurance, loan repayment insurance and travel insurance. It also offers the services of Bridges. Bridges is one of Australia’s largest financial planning and stockbroking groups and the highly respected wealth management business. The Credit Union was founded in December 1964 by electricity workers. In 1974, 1980 and 2003, it merged with the Dubbo Municipal Council Employees Credit Union, Warren Shire Council Employees Credit Union and Dubbo Post-Tel Credit Union, respectively. Macquarie CU was rated in the top 10 lowest rate cards by the Sun Herald. It is the first major sponsor of the DREAM festival which is held in Dubbo. As at June 2015, Macquarie Credit Union has total assets of about $90.7 million, member loans of $71.6 million, deposits of $75.7 million and more than 6,000 members.
